The One Thing Your Future Spouse Needs Most
What is it? PRAYER! Yes, we can begin to pray for our future (and current one if you, have one) spouse now. Does it sound a little crazy? Maybe, but what in your faith walk has actually been "normal"? Right.
Praying for your future spouse is a great practice of Intercession. This is important because it allows you to spiritually speak to the future (your future) on behalf of someone you plan to be connected to and spend the rest of your life with. If anyone needs prayer, it's the person I am in covenant with because the blessings on them will also be on me, likewise any curses or bondage on them will also fall and challenge me. Because you know, we're "one", right?
So, how does someone effectively pray for their future spouse? Here are a few starter points:
- Identity - Knowing themselves, being accepting and owning their truth.
- Generational Curses - Behaviors habitually passed down from generation to the next.
- Hurt & Trauma - Dealing with offense and circumstances that may have been outside of their control
- Soul Ties & Past Relationships - Closing doors and healing from past relationships, situation-ships, almost-ships, and aint-ships.
- Spiritual Growth & Obedience - Steadily operating in purpose, intentionally yielding to God's will for their life.
Essentially, these are all areas we should consider praying for ourselves in too - that we are the wife/husband our spouse needs and we have also submitted to God in these areas.
