[Movie Review] Devon Franklin's "Breakthrough"

I had a chance to attend the screening premiere for the movie, “Breakthrough” featuring Chrissy Metz (NBC’s “This is Us”), Mike Colter (Netflix’s “Luke Cage”), produced by Devon Franklin (Franklin Entertainment) and 20th Century Fox. Franklin has produced a few Christian based dramas like “Miracles from Heaven” and “Heaven is Real” that has challenged our perspectives of faith and rebirthed a new outlook on life - and this one is no different. Breakthrough is an exciting movie blended of rich, raw emotion that could not be scripted. In face, it’s actually based on a true story and was adapted to film from the book, “The Impossible” by Joyce Smith. The story line follows a family whose faith is blindsided and challenged through a very public tragedy. The mother and author of the aforementioned book, confronts the face of their circumstance with literally nothing else but the strength of her faith. The movie takes us through an all too well-known journey of uncomfortable faith and believing God for the impossible. A definite tearjerker, this movie will resurrect a new place of faith in all of us. “Breakthrough” is in theaters now.
